My husband and I just recently moved to one of Harrisonburg’s suburbs — Bridgewater. Bridgewater is a quaint and cozy little town with a population of about 5,000. (In other words, most people know most people in this town.) The number one reason we decided to move to Bridgewater was to be closer to my husband’s job. He now rides his bike to work, which saves us a bundle on gas money!
So, why do you care that we moved to Bridgewater? Well, I want to share with you just what our new neighborhood is like, so you can get a better idea of what it would be like for you to live in Bridgewater, just in case it was ever a decision you would have to make.
We live on a quiet street with friendly folks. There are kids playing in the yards, we are close to the grocery store, pharmacy, restaurants, and an easy 10 minute bike ride to the river. Our neighborhood had a get together last weekend and it was so great to meet nice people who I probably never would have met except that I moved in next door to them.
Bridgewater is known for its little league baseball, plethora of parks, Summer lawn parties, Labor Day carnival, the retirement community, and Bridgewater College. These are all community oriented events and places, and it is wonderful to be a part of. If you ever decide to move here, you won’t regret it one bit!
